Anxiety and Depression

Do you feel down, unmotivated, panicky, or stressed?

Maybe you can identify with these statements:

  • "I can't do anything right! I'll never be good enough."

If you have ever said or thought any of the above, you are not alone!  So many of my clients struggle with perfectionism, imposter syndrome, people pleasing, burnout, insomnia, hopelessness, and low self-esteem, and have definitely expressed thoughts like the ones listed above. 


The good news is that, even in spite of long histories of anxiety and depression, my clients have achieved real, lasting relief! They have gone from being frantic and overrun with responsibilities and obligation to being calm and collected by prioritizing work-life balance and their healing.


You deserve to finally be able to enjoy peace in your mind, body, and soul. You owe it to your hardworking, self-sacrificing self to finally embody wholeness, authenticity, and empowered living. 


Maybe you do not believe me. That's okay! I get it. I get what it can feel like being stuck and weighed down by the heaviness of existence and the dread of every new morning. I get what hopelessness feels like. I know how being immobilized by fear robs minutes, hours, and days of life from you. (Fun fact! I was diagnosed with clinical depression when I was 13 going on 14 years old). Whether the result of circumstances or situations, depression and anxiety looks differently for everyone, including me!

But I don't think I'm depressed or anxious...

Ask Yourself These Questions

  • Do you often feel overwhelmed?
  • Do you believe your quality of life is compromised by your mental health?
  • Are you often asking friends and family for advice or counsel?
  • Do you have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or wake up during sleep?
  • Do you avoid social situations?
  • Are you struggling with relationship problems and conflicts?
  • Do you self-medicate with drugs or alcohol or other addictive behavior (binge watching TV, gambling, scrolling on phone, shopping, etc.)?
  • Do you have muscle tension, headaches, or unexplained aches and pains that seem to not have an obvious physical cause?


If there are more than one, "yes" to the questions above, then there is a chance that you may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression. 


Even if you smile a lot or do not "look depressed," you can still be experiencing the torturous loneliness, disconnection, and numbness of depression. 

Are Your Feelings or Experiences Manageable?

Consider if you might be extending yourself beyond your own abilities. Maybe you are not even aware that you are burnt out! Maybe you do not realize the weighty toll of pouring out from an empty cup. That's how anxiety and depression maintains a chokehold on our lives! 


Consider if the most courageous thing you can do is to talk to yourself or treat yourself the way you would treat a good friend— and that advice you would give might include recognizing your limitations and getting help from a trained professional, like me!
